Founded by a Baptist preacher, Roger Williams, in an effort to escape religious persecution in Massachusetts, the names of many streets in Providence reflect the early settler's desire for religious freedom, as does the state's official motto, "Hope."

Today, however, Providence ranks as one of the least Bible-minded cities in the US, with only 12% of the population believing that the Bible is accurate in the principles it teaches.

Unsurprisingly, many Rhode Islanders have lost hope as they have detached themselves from the only One who can give it. As reports of drug and alcohol abuse, depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts throughout the state reach an all-time high, it's clear that Providence needs something more.

That's why we're starting a new church in Providence, RI that will be a place where people can find hope once again.

When older and younger generations are united in a church, wisdom is imparted and innovation sparked as they work together to do incredible things for God.

Hope City Church will be a place where we can learn from the wisdom of our elders while laying a strong foundation for future generations.

Providence has more than 100 nationalities represented within its borders.

Hope City Church will reflect the makeup of the Providence community and be a place where people can get a feel for what heaven will look like.

About 50% of Providence residents speak a language other than English in their home.
Within this group, there's a generational divide where grandparents and grandchildren don't speak the same language.
 
Hope City Church will be a multilingual church where the whole family can worship together. We're starting with English and Spanish but the possibilities are endless.

The average Rhode Islander rarely drives more than 20 minutes from their home and there are very few spaces available that can hold more than 100 people.

Hope City Church will be a multisited church that reaches into every neighborhood through home groups and multiple church campuses for
weekly gatherings.

We serve an incredibly big God. We've literally seen him raise people from the dead, cancerous tumors disappear, and blind eyes opened.

Hope City Church will be a place where the people exercise big faith in a big God and where supernatural miracles happen regularly.

Our hope is anchored in the salvation that Jesus Christ offers in His death, burial, and resurrection. It's a hope that isn't temporal, but eternal.

Hope City Church will be a place where the brokenhearted and hopeless will be made whole as they encounter the one, true source of hope and joy.

Now, more than ever, people feel isolated and unloved. In fact, 2 in 3 young adults do not feel deeply cared for by anyone around them.

Hope City Church will be a place where the love of God will permeate through every interaction so that people will understand how treasured they are by God and us.

Hope City Church gathers both in homes for community and discipleship and larger gathering spaces for worship and preaching.

Home groups are the primary method for multiplication, with each home group multiplying when it reaches 10-15 members.
Home groups are divided into zones of 3-4 home groups and assigned to a zonal leader who equips home group leaders to make disciples.

When a campus reaches 3-4 zones, it multiplies into a new campus.

This approach allows us to consistently develop leaders and provide continual opportunities for people to grow and reach their God-given potential.

Hope City Church is starting in Providence but has plans to spread across all of New England.

With God's help, we're aiming at 10 campuses by the end of 2031, each with 60-120 people.
