SEPTEMBER 18-20, 2026

A weekend about new life and what the Bible actually says about it.

We'll eat together, open the Bible, and talk about the kind of change that lasts.

ABOUT THIS SEMINAR

A lot of people are carrying the feeling that something needs to change.

They can't always name it. The life they have and the life they want don't feel like the same thing, and they don't know how to get from one to the other.

The Bible calls it new life, and it's one of the most significant ideas in all of Scripture.

Over three sessions, Pastor Alan and Valerie Demos will walk through exactly what that means: why we need it, what God has done to make it possible, and what it looks like to receive it.

If you've never read the Bible before, that's fine. Every term will get explained, every passage will get context.

THE SESSIONS

Three sessions across the weekend.

Each session stands on its own, but they build on each other. Come to one or all three. There's a meal at every session.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 18

An Introduction to New Life

Dinner at 6:30 pm | Seminar at 7:30 pm

We'll start with what the Bible actually means by new life: what it is, why it matters, and why it's relevant to where you are right now.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 19

The Need for & Means of New Life

Lunch and seminar at 12 PM

Why do we need new life in the first place? And what has God done to make it possible?
This session traces the biblical story of redemption and what it tells us about God's plan for our lives.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 20

The Pattern to Receive New Life

Dinner and seminar at 5 PM

The final session looks at the biblical pattern for receiving new life and what it means to respond to the Gospel.
For anyone who's ready to take that step, we'll have water prepared for baptism.

Hear Mariana's story of how God gave her a new life.

SEMINAR LEADERS

Pastor Alan & Valerie Demos

Alan Demos has spent decades as a missionary, most of it in Europe. He served as a pioneer missionary in Greece and was later appointed to Germany, where he continued teaching and planting churches.
He and Valerie have spent most of their adult lives bringing the Scriptures to people who had little or no exposure to them. That background shows in how they teach.

Fun fact: Valerie is also a Brown alumna

WHAT TO EXPECT

A few things worth knowing before you come.

No background required
These sessions start from the beginning. If you've never opened a Bible, you'll be fine.
Questions are welcome
If something doesn't make sense, ask. If you push back on something, good. That's part of what this weekend is for.
A meal at every session
Each session includes time to eat together. Come in, get settled, and let the time unfold at a reasonable pace.
Rooted in scripture
Every session is built on the Bible. We'll show you the text, give you the context, and let it speak for itself.

Whether you've been carrying questions about faith, grew up in church and drifted, or just know something in your life needs to change, this weekend is for you.
