"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."
- Acts 1:8

What's Pentecost Sunday all about?
Pentecost Sunday celebrates the moment when the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles and followers of Jesus Christ, empowering them to spread his teachings. This event is often called the "Church's birthday."
More than a celebration of what started more than 2,000 years ago, it's the recognition that what happened on that day is still happening today.
People are still encountering the power of the Holy Spirit. They're still being transformed, finding hope in despair, experiencing healing, and discovering a sense of purpose and direction. Lives are still being touched, and communities are still being changed.
We invite you to experience the power of Pentecost on May 19 at 5 pm.

I'm not Pentecostal. Is this for me?
ABSOLUTELY!
God has a special purpose for your life and wants to give you the power to overcome every obstacle that would stand in the way of achieving that purpose.
Imagine a life where you had true love for others, experienced a deep joy that went beyond the situation you're in, felt peace that didn't make sense, exhibited patience even in the most challenging times, showed kindness to everyone you met, possessed goodness in your heart, maintained faithfulness to your values and beliefs, embraced gentleness in your interactions with others, and exercised self-control in every aspect of your life.
Sounds like quite the life!
The power that you'll encounter on Pentecost Sunday is what makes that type of life possible. And that power is available to EVERYONE.

When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting... And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

And Peter said to them, "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself."
- Acts 2:38-39

How about my kids?
Currently, Hope City Kids is especially geared for toddlers, ages 2-4 years old, and goes from the very beginning to the very end of service. When you arrive, there will be someone to help you check in your little ones for service. We have dedicated teachers that give their talents to help our children walk closer with God.
For the older kids, we have special sermon coloring pages to help them process what they're learning in the main service.
The heart of children’s ministry at our church is to teach kids about who God is and how His word applies to their lives in creative and memorable ways.

Let’s not make things awkward.
Here’s the deal…
We do things a little differently around here…
We know that it can be a little weird or even awkward going to a church event for the first time… Especially a new church!
That’s why we created Save my seat.
When you sign up to save your seat we’ll:
✅ meet you at the front door
✅ help you get your kids checked in
✅ introduce you around to a few people
✅ save you seats (obviously 😉)
✅ we’ll even sit with you if you want (so you don’t have to sit by yourself)
Just to let you know…
We’ll do those things even if you don’t save your seat… But it does help (especially on the food front).
We want to make your visit on Pentecost Sunday is as easy as possible, and authentically get to know you and your family.
Pretty crazy idea, right?
Will you come hang out with us for a service?

Pastors Josh & Holly Smith

Hi, we're Josh & Holly.
We believe that you are uniquely created by God for a specific purpose, and that unless you figure out what that purpose is, you’ll never truly be fulfilled.
No one else on earth can fulfill the unique calling that God has for you.
No one else can fulfill your assignment.
Maybe you know exactly what your purpose is, maybe you’ve been running from it for a while, or maybe you have absolutely no idea where to even start looking for it…
But we want to help you find it.
Because we believe that the ones who don’t think that they can make an impact are the ones that God chooses to use to change the world.
We hope that you'll join us for Pentecost Sunday to experience God's presence & discover His purpose for your life as you find community & connection.
